Pittsylvania County calves’ death ruled as natural causes

The nine calves that were found dead two weeks ago on a farm near Renan died of natural causes, according to County Administrator Dan Sleeper.

“The calves died of natural causes complicated by extreme weather,” Sleeper said Tuesday, referring to results from an autopsy on one of the calves performed by a Gretna veterinarian.

Sleeper declined to comment further on the matter.

Nine calves were found dead about two weeks ago on the farm of McKinley Dalton — bringing the number of cattle killed there in the past year to 16. At the time, no one was sure how they died. A message left for Dalton on Tuesday evening was not returned by press time.

Kenneth Crews, a part-time farmer whose land borders Dalton’s farm on two sides, had expressed con-cern about the incident and remains unconvinced the calves died natural deaths.

“I find it very odd that nine calves would die in one night of natural causes,” Crews said Tuesday.

The felled calves bore no marks, and their carcasses were spread out as if they had been chased, said Staunton River Supervisor Marshall Ecker. He expressed skepticism of the autopsy results.

“I’m not sure they’re natural causes,” Ecker said Tuesday.

Ecker believes a bobcat or a pack of dogs could have run them to death.

Chatham-Blairs Supervisor Hank Davis said he agrees with the autopsy report.

“If it’s a qualified veterinarian that did it (the autopsy), I would take it at face value,” Davis said Tuesday. “I wouldn’t have any reason to question it.”

say what? No uranium didn’t do them in…a ufo abducted them did a few experiments and then dropped them out the hatch from about 250 feet up that is what killed them.

I live in the area and have seen dogs that roam that area together.  I know that dogs will chase cows-especially calves- for no reason other than the chase.  I’ve seen it.  I’m pretty confident that’s what happened here.  I feel bad for the owner and the calves because I see no way you could tell whose dog(s) would be responsible.

Think about it folks ...URANIUM .... SAMPLE CORE DRILLING… NOW GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR BUTT AND THINK ....Don’t Believe them filthy money hungry democrats when they tell you…It’s safe, your animals will not die, your children will not get cancer, It will create many needed jobs.
This is just a sample of what’s to come.
This so called vet explained nine calves died naturally. BULL CRAP! The animal carcasses had no marking as being eaten for food by wild coyotes or mountain lions. Just laying around spread out and dead. How about the radiation coming from the sample drilling causing the brain to bleed creating pressure and the poor animals running around like crazy trying to relieve the pain and then dying from exhaustion. I have known several people that worked at that place in Lynchburg, Va where the uranium is and they were hospitalized from bleeding from the brain and miracuously were never given a reason why this had happened to them. After a very lengthy recovery time of months they were back working in the radiation. They were decontaminted. I heard two are dead now. Now this is odd don’t you think?
It’s another elaborate cover up paid for by our URANIUM FRIENDS. I Wonder how much money the vet got paid for this wonderful explaination that everyone with a simple brain knows it is a lie. But let’s not panic the public.
I bet that crook Jerry Gwaltney helped them to come up with this plan at the lake house on Smith Mountain that he and his wife built from stealing all that money from the folks in Danville, Va. It’s all about the money.
MOVE AWAY NOW FROM PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY WHILE YOU HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY AND YOUR HEALTH. God help Pittsylvania County.
