The Danville Fire Department suspects arson in a fire that caused damage Saturday morning to a home on Glendale Avenue.

Firefighters responded to a reported structure fire at 6:39 a.m. at 831 Glendale Ave. and found heavy smoke coming from the home, with fire venting out of the upstairs louvers, Acting Assistant Chief B.K. Shields said in a news release.

The home was vacant, and no one was injured in the blaze.

The fire appears to have originated in a stairwell leading to an attic area, causing moderate damage to the home, Shields said. Personnel, including three engines, one ladder truck and four support vehicles, extinguished the fire quickly. They were on the scene for two hours and 39 minutes, Shields said.
