SAY WHAT, let me clear up a few of your continued misguided comments - actually all of your misguided comments. Seward Anderson is not my daddy. Perhaps you don’t know who yours is, but I do know mine. I am a professional living and working in Danville. I have tried not to stoop to your intellectual level in responding to your misguided information about the record of Mr. Anderson. He was a leader in city government for more than 9 years. During his tenure (I hope you have a dictionary to look that word up), taxes were ACTUALLY LOWERED BY 20%! As my name implies, FACTS MATTER, not some shoot from the hip loud mouth who doesn’t do his homework. Mr. Anderson lost not because of arrogance, and not because of anything Danny Marshall has done for the community, but because the political winds have shifted very dramatically on the national level and the voters who are too lazy and strident to research the facts find it easier to pull one lever than to vote the candidate. Now that giant sucking sound I hear is the continued loss of jobs and more people in the welfare and food stamp lines. I suppose that makes you proud.
Say What…..arrogance does not suite you well. I would suggest you look at the last years with Marshall. He is listed with independent groups as one of the most ineffectual members of the state reps. He has promoted his own agenda also make no mistake about that. While Anderson may have not been the one to beat him we certainly need new representation. I contacted marshall on several issues and have never received any satisfaction. In each case I was told he would look into it and nothing was ever done nor did I ever receive a call back. Marshall is a member of the “country club crowd” and doesn’t give a hoot about Danville or its common citizens. Danville needs true representation for all citizens, not just the BMW set…...
Hey FACTS MATTER….Did Your Little Daddy Seward get his butt kicked or what? That was the only sucking sound that I can remember hearing. Danny Marshall sucked the life right out of little Sewy’s dream cloud of taxing and dumping on the Danville citizens again. It certainly looked like to me that I wasn’t the only one that remembered the legendary disaster of Seward Anderson. HE LOST BY A LAND SLIDE, because he is arrogant and disgusting. He only wants what will make him mighty man in his eyes. Help him out man…Call ELVIRA for him!
SAY WHAT, perhaps you have too much lint in your ears to hear the giant sucking sound at the city limits of Danville. Small business has been historically the bedrock of the economy in Danville. It doesn’t take a mental giant to see the empty store fronts and lease space to realize that the community is no longer being supported by its representative in Richmond in a way that restores confidence in the community. You may make all of the immature comments you like on Mr. Anderson’s candidacy, but he is absolutely correct that Danny Marshall has done NOTHING to help stimulate the Danville economy. Young people are leaving in droves for better opportunities elsewhere rather than coming back to the community to find their fortunes and success. Have you asked yourself why or would that kind of question give you a headache? Mr. Anderson outlined a program to stimulate growth and retain the young population which will ultimately become Danville’s path out of its deep economic recession. Do your homework the next time before you spout off with the only argument being that somewhere in the past two decades a mayor happened to have raised taxes and you haven’t gotten over it.
dispatcher if that is true then why did Fuller not publically endorse him? Because he did not want to for obvious reasons. And no he will not be able to fill the positions besides a hiring freeze, no one wants to work for an arrogant egomaniac. I have seen him in action and believe me he is bad news for Danville. Just run the rest of them away….he will be working the court by himself.
watchman, it’s not an urban myth. I personally know Mike Newman, have for most of his life. I know that Fuller is the one that told him to run. If those people quit, then that’s their loss. I’m sure Mike won’t have any problem filling their positions.
I do agree with you on the Mondul election. I hope they are both big enough to be able to work together.
dispatcher….don’t believe the urban myths. Fuller DID NOT endorse Newman for good reason. The people of Danville have been fooled again, as usual. Hmmm three asst. attorneys have resigned already. Any thoughts on why? Doesn’t take a brain surgeon to figure it out. Martin was by far a better choice. Danville you get what you deserve…..Childress was by far the better candidate buit the people have spoken. I hope Mondul is man enough to keep an experienced christian man like Childress and not fill the department with the “good old boys” from Danville PD…....
From what I understand Mr. Childress has as much integrity as Mr. Mondule. I don’t think Danville would have gone wrong with either one of them. If they are both the men I have heard they are, then they should be able to put the past behind and work together for the good of Danville.
Congrats to Mike Newman. Mr. Fuller encouraged him to run back in Jan. Mike Newman is a man of integrity. He will do a fine job for the city of Danville.
Congrats to you all! Mondul, so glad to see ya going to the bigm seat. And as far as Childress, hope Mondul doesn’t need to fire him because I just hope he quits and goes away, far away.
Mike is a man of integrity. Despite the fact that many of us who voted Mike believe that Childress should be let go, I do not believe that Mike will do that. I believe Mike will give him the opportunity to either continue to work for the Sheriff’s Department, or leave voluntarily. He will be, however, watched closely. If he proves in the end to be a subversive, at that time I believe that he will be let go. I also believe that it is just a matter of time.
