On Monday morning at about 10:30, Burlington police officers responded to an alarm at the jewelry store on Church Street. Employees told police that they had been robbed at gunpoint and forced into a bathroom, according to a news release from the Burlington Police Department.

The suspects left with undetermined amounts of cash and jewelry.

no doubt, he commited the crime, and SHOULD do the time! he endangered lives, no one has the right to do that.
babygirl, I think the picture is a mugshot since it shows a side view also. And if he turned himself in, doesn’t that kind of make you think he is probably guilty? Why would he turn himself in if he wasn’t involved?
The purpose of being able to leave comments is the right to express our opinion on the article. What is it that you can’t believe? If this is the way I see it and not your way, you have the right to your opinion. I have worked with enough people who have committed crimes to know a little more about this. True, I don’t know your cousin but I know the story that was told, and he took part willingly and pointed a gun at the people in the jewelry store, robbed them, etc. It doesn’t matter what excuse you have for why he did or didn’t do this, but he has the right to a trial and may be proven guilty or innocent. If he is proven to have done the crime, he needs to do the time. It’s as simple as that.
well first of all, marcus is the cousin of a very close friend of mine. when are you people gonna quit pointing fingers when im sure your hands definitely aren’t clean. you really dont know the story, and definitely dont know the person. good people do bad things.
I cannot believe country girls views on this matter, she really needs to wake up. Pokerdog needs to grow up
First of all I am not the same person as the rest who are commenting if you think that. Second of all I appreciate all your comments. Like yourself I like to read the difference of opinions on the topic. I would like to say I do not need a DVD about the streets of Danville I was involved in them. I actually got caught up in things that I had no business getting caught up in. For instance I was with a group of guys and we rode to another group of guys and shots were fired out of the car I was driving. The other guys fired back and thank goodness no one was hurt that day. Where do you think the guy that was with me that day who fired those shots that day is right now? Dead! He got into another shoot out with someone else and he died. I also was in part of other things that really can’t be discussed in this forum but let’s just say I know a little something first hand about the streets. But the difference is I had to wake up one day and think if I keep doing the same things then I am going to end up dead or in jail. I choose to get out of Danville because there was no jobs or programs for the youth that were helpful. What did I do go to school a small school but it was out of Danville and the everyday temptations that came with it. I graduated and am now able to work and provide for my family the right way. I am not saying that for no props because I didn’t do it for anyone else I did it for myself and family. I say that to say this there are opportunites if you make them. I was thinking like everyone I was hanging with who had no real plans for their future lives. We were just living day by day getting high and taking each day how it came. Some of the guys on the street are very smart but they choose to use their smarts in the streets rather than making a better life for themselves and the loved ones around them. I’m sorry but there is NO EXCUSE for someone making you do something. When did this guy turn himself in when he was pictured on T.V. or if he had no part to do with it when his “friends” let him go?
I will leave with this: When I was a child, I spoke like a child, and reasoned like a child. When I became a man I gave up my childish ways. 1 Corinthians 13:11. If this is your cousin go help him because he is far from a man if he is making decisions based on what his friends are doing. I’m not here to judge but on the same hand i’m not here to make excuses for them. The facts will come out.
You might have been the same person for dawg, sick&tired;, countrygirl, etc…how will I ever know? L O L
No, I am not trying to make or convince anyone to believe nothing. I am just saying my decision will be made after all Production of Discovery. That’s what babygirl is trying to say. I’m done entertsining you sll on this matter, but I’ll continue to read your comments.
I believe in innocent until proven guilty, but lots of times, and in this case, they pretty much have enough evidence to say this guy had a gun and robbed the jewelry store, with the help of others. But to say he could have been influenced to do this is really a lame excuse. What happened to having a mind of your own? My mother always said,“If so and so jumped in the river, would you jump, too?“ I think someone who supposedly is a criminal justice major would be able to figure this out, but if it’s her “blood”, that makes him innocent. Babygirl is saying that this guy is not a thug because he lives in Tuscarora Farms and he is from a nice family. Therefore she thinks that we should all think that he is innocent. Jesse Weaver and Tom Cox live in much better neighborhoods than this, but they are both definitely crooks and have broken the law. So where you live and who your family is doesn’t mean Jack Crap. I get so sick of hearing about teenagers and young adults who steal and commit crimes because “there is nothing else to do in Danville”. Give me a break! How about going to school to make something out of yourself instead of letting others drag you down? How about volunteering at the Homeless Shelter or Boys and Girls Club? I know kids will say it doesn’t pay anything, but money isn’t everything. Doing something to help someone else might make them appreciate what they have. They are doing this because they are thugs and thug wannabes, and think this looks good to their boys. Prison is not a very nice place to be, especially when you go in thinking you are so big and bad, and shortly after arriving at the big house, you wish you were back home with Mama.
I’ll make sure I intercede 4 you, I wish death on nobody. Believe me I’ll always pass through. So I guess you better pack your belongings DAWG.
