NORMAL TRAFFIC RESUMES ON U.S. 501
11:00 a.m. update

CLUSTER SPRINGS – Traffic should be moving at a normal pace on U.S. 501 near Cluster Springs in Halifax County at this time.

Earlier this morning an accident forced the closure of a number of lanes for investigation, utility repairs and clean up. 

No additional details available on the accident.

9:45 a.m., update

LANES of U.S. 501 to REMAIN CLOSED SEVERAL HOURS

9:30 a.m. update:

CLUSTER SPRINGS – Motorists should expect continued delays as one lane of U.S. 501 in either direction near Cluster Springs in Halifax County will remain closed for several more hours following an early morning accident.

Utility crews are making repairs and VDOT expects all lanes to be open early this afternoon. 

There are no details available on the accident at this time.

One lane of U.S. 501 in either direction in Halifax County near Cluster Springs remains closed following an accident early this morning.

Utility crews are making repairs and VDOT expects all lanes to be open around 9 a.m.

At one point this morning all lanes were closed and traffic was being detoured.
