DANVILLE — Danville’s Social Security Administration office is changing locations next week.

The office will relocate from 875 Piney Forest Road to 3295 U.S. 29 in Market Square, district manager Adama Vacanti said.

Throughout next week, staff will move different items throughout the week, but the computer systems will be extremely limited, Vacanti said. Service will be slow if users come inside.

The new office will open on Nov. 16. Until then, those who need services should visit http://www.socialsecurity.gov or call the toll-free number (800) 772-1213.

The new office will provide for more space for equipment, employees and offer the public better access, Vacanti said.

“We hope to be able to provide better service in a more expeditious manner,” she said.

Why did they need a new facility anyway?  I’ll bet there will still be folks waiting to be seen anytime you go in as usual.  From my experience the only time they get people moving quickly is 30 minutes before quitting time.

This comment board will be shut down if godanriver thinks it needs to be! Let’s talk about dogs being chained up for 3 hours!!! That’s what Danville wants to talk about!
