Danville police investigate cars thefts

Danville police are investigating the theft of vehicles from a local car lot.

Officers responded to Elliott’s Automotive on Halifax Road about a possible burglary at about 4:30 a.m., according to a news release.

Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s deputies found three vehicles abandoned on Kentuck Road. Deputies found two of the vehicles — a 2001 red Ford Focus and a 1991 Chevrolet Silverado pick up.

Two vehicles were also taken, but have not been recovered at this time.
