I’m reminded of an old “All In The Family” episode where Meathead is justa ranting anda raving about people getting murdered with guns. And Archie counters with “well, would you feel better if they were pushed out a window?“ Blaming the NRA for people making the decision to kill one another is just silly. That’s like saying there wouldn’t be any bank robberies if banks didn’t maintain a supply of cash. Or, saying that women wouldn’t get raped if they would only not dress so nicely. Any of these ridiculous excuses distorts the simple fact that there are evil people in this world who do evil things. Of course, as here, there will always be some who blame the law abiding citizens first. Why? I have no idea, it has never made sense to me.
JP, lay off the drugs!
Well lets see, there have been two murders in Danville in less than a month, several people shot and recovering, and now this latest incident at DCC, NOW FOR THE MILLION DOLLAR QUESTION?????!!!!!!!
WHAT DO THEY ALL HAVE IN COMMON???
Lets see if anyone here has the GUTS to write the truth here for all to see, even if they don’t like the answer!!
JP, how many personalities are you using on here? Next time someone gets run over, I want you to devote as much time to banning cars as you do to bashing guns. A gun is a piece of metal, no more, no less. People kill people, guns kill no one. Dead is dead, whether it is by a gun, knife, rock, or any other item. The person behind the weapon is the problem, not the weapon. Duh. Until guns start shooting people by themselves, it is evading the problem by focusing on the gun.
My condolences to the victims family. Damnville just keeps gettin’ worse with shootings. I wonder why people can’t handle their problems like men and or women. What a cowardly act, I hope they get whats coming to em’. I’m not tryin to say another that will ruffle any feathers but the Danville police department has gotta change as well, it seems to me that they worry more about minor issues than the violence thats taking place here, not saying they don’t do there job..but still, I’ve seen some pretty questionable things. Gun laws aren’t going to prevent murder though, if someone is intending to do something like this nothing will stop them.
I wonder if the victim had been hit in the head with a hammer if jackson polock would be blaming bob vila or home depot for the murder?
Most guns used in crimes are stolen from hard working people who bought them legally. The person who shot this man had to get a gun, had to get bullets, had to put the bullets in the gun, had to point it and pull the trigger. I would say the suspect did more toward killing the victim than the gun. Next I would say that the bullet did more to kill the man then the gun. I remember a case very well where Smith & Wesson was sued for millions of dollars for a homicide that occurred and the suspect used a Smith & Wesson gun. Details of the case later revealed that the gun had .45 caliber Remington bullets in the gun. Funny how the gun manufacturer was found liable and ordered to pay and the manufacturer of the bullet that actually did the killing got off scot free. You would think one of jackie boys friends would have tried suing the makers of bullets in court, but I guess they’re all too busy pitchung hissies about Bush and all things republican…...
PEACE! (prize for hussien obammie)
Thank the NRA man where have you been Laws are made and all they do is keep the honest man honest. The criminal will buy steal or do whatever they have to to get there weapons. We have due to the legal system have made ourselves a society of victims. We are easy targets to most any criminal because we choose to follow the law. Criminals on the other hand do not and the law actually protects them when they commit a crime. We as victims are just out of luck because our rights have been violated but we cannot violate the criminals rights because the court systems will not allow it. Gun Laws only keep the Law abiding citizens from having a weapon and the criminals love it.

Commonality being guns, howabout the common factor being meanness, lack of respect for your fellowman. If it wasn’t a gun, it would be a knife to stab someone with, a baseball bat or something to beat them to death with, gasoline to set the person on fire, aiming at someone with a vehicle, etc. Do we start a campaign to ban these things also?
The man is dead and someone took his life, regardless of the method.
Rather than a council person suggesting that the City start up Midnight Basketball and have the police oversee it to keep these young people off the streets, why not let the police do their jobs (which do not include being babysitters for thugs) and start out giving parenting classes and classes on how to behave and get along in a community.
Let’s see . . . besides the fact that a human being killed another human being, what is another KNOWN commonality in these killings? Answer: GUNS. Of course if this state had a conceal carry law and no control over who can buy guns at gun shows, then there wouldn’t be all of these killings - oops, there is a conceal carry law here and there is no control over who purchases guns at gun shows? Wow.
Thank you NRA for making our streets safer.
‘Nuf said. Peace.
I really do not think that the crime has increased that much but more to the point that we have changed in that we receive information at a much greater rate than we have in the past. Now every bad little event get beamed to us in so many different way instantly. So we hear more of what is going on instead of just a few events But I do agree the the crime rate in this town is terrable and there seams to be no end to it
