Danville police find cat in bag
Danville police responding to a call about an unresponsive woman in the 300 block of Bellevue Street on Wednesday night were surprised to find a cat zipped inside a lunch bag.
The call was made at about 7:40 p.m., police said.
“The man (who lives there) came home and found the lady on the back porch unresponsive,” Lt. M.T. White said, adding that the woman lived in the house as well. “She was taken to Danville Regional Medical Center.”
White said the lunch bag, with the cat inside, was right next to the woman and the Danville Area Humane Society was called.
Police do not yet know how the woman came to be passed out on the porch, or why the cat was in the lunch bag. White said the case is still being investigated.
Paulette Dean, executive director of the Humane Society, said the cat was at the point of heat stroke when it was found.
“We got there just in time,” she said. “We cooled him down and he’s resting comfortably right now.”
Dean said the cat would remain in the custody of the Humane Society until the incident is investigated, and the woman recovers enough to explain why the cat was in the bag.
“This is a large, fully-grown cat,” Dean said. “I don’t see how it even fit into that little bag.”

Ugh that was not the point of the comments! We are trying to say that it wasnt “Lady found unresponsive” it was “Cat found in a bag”! It seemed like the story of the cat being found was MORE important than a lady laying out on her porch! She was mentioned maybe twice in the whole story. The story was MORE focused on the cat than this lady!! That is more sickening in my mind then the cat being found in a bag in the first place.
Do you actually think that Paulette is the reason why there are so many articles about abused animals in the paper? Maybe if people didn’t abuse their animals, there wouldn’t be articles in the newspaper.
Yep! The real focus should be on the unresponsive human being.
“This is a large, fully-grown cat,” Dean said. “I don’t see how it even fit into that little bag.”

Should probably read
Unresponsive Woman Found on Porch
Maybe there is enough news here for two separate stories.
Hmm isn’t that truth! Maybe Paulette thinks that her name and the humane society isn’t mentioned enough in the paper each week!
I hope the HUMAN is ok!!
AFTER READING THIS THERE SEEMS TO BE MORE CONCERN ABOUT THE CAT THAN THE HUMAN.
