A Danville man will compete against some of the best competitors in the World Yo-Yo Contest.

Samm Scott is going to Orlando, Fla., to compete against more than 200 yo-yo players from more than 22 countries.

This is the 76th annual competition. The first World Yo-Yo Contest was won by Harvey Low in 1932 in London.

The 2007 contest will be aired later this month on “The Best Damn Sports Show Period,” which airs on the Fox Sports Network in most cable markets.

The contest is supported by the world’s best yo-yo manufacturers, including Duncan, YoYoFactory and Yo-Yo Jam.
