From staff reports

A fire caused by unattended cooking caused severe damage to a mobile home on Indian Valley Road on Tuesday.

The Danville Fire Department sent three engines, a ladder truck, a tender and three staff vehicles to 702 Indian Valley Road at 12:30 p.m., where they found heavy smoke coming from the home.

Assistant Fire Chief S.R. Dishman said the blaze was extinguished quickly.

“The structure is still intact, but the heat and smoke destroyed everything in the mobile home,” Dishman said.

Dishman said the occupants of the home escaped safely, and were getting temporary help from the Red Cross and the Danville Burn Fund.

I hope they have insurance!  A friend of mine, Mr. Cook, had his home burn to the ground last week, lost everything they had.  Right here at Christmas too, such a double tragedy. But no one was hurt (as far as I know), so the tangibles can be replaced.
