Caswell man drowns Friday in Hyco Lake

A Leasburg, N.C., man drowned Friday in Hyco Lake, the Caswell County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release Tuesday.

The body of Robert Allen Michalec, 47, of Lakeshore Road, Leasburg, was taken to the Medical Examiners Office in Chapel Hill for an autopsy.

The sheriff’s office is continuing its investigation, pending the autopsy report. Deputies were assisted at the scene Friday by the Hyco Lake Authority, Semora Volunteer Fire Department, Caswell County EMS and Caswell Emergency Management.
