It’s payback time for Buffalo Wild Wings Grill and Bar.
The Danville restaurant is so appreciative of the business the local residents bring them that the staff wants to give something back.
“Our ultimate goal is to be involved in the community that does so much for us,” Clifton Glasscock, regional manager, said Monday. “Lots of times the organizations have to spend so much time raising money that we want to give them the chance to use our building.”
Throughout the Jones Group franchise, the management has decided to frequently set aside time on either a Monday or Wednesday night and donate a portion of the net sales, excluding alcohol, to a community organization.
The franchise has 20 stores in Virginia and Indiana, including Danville’s.
The first non-profit to benefit from Buffalo Wild Wings’ generosity will be God’s Pit Crew.
From 6 to 9 p.m. on Nov. 18, God’s Pit Crew will receive 15 percent of the net sales collected during that time.
And there’s more.
“As an added incentive, the management team will come in, wait tables and donate 100 percent of our tips,” Glasscock said.
During that time, God’s Pit Crew will also be set up in the parking lot to tell others about their mission and accept donations.
“We picked God’s Pit Crew for the first one because it is well-known throughout the community and respected for what they do,” Glasscock said. “They not only provide disaster relief but help to the community.”
Glasscock said that they are hoping to provide this opportunity three to five times a year with God’s Pit Crew and eventually form “somewhat of a partnership” with them, helping them with such things as their annual golf tournament.
God’s Pit Crew isn’t the only organization that the restaurant wants to help, though.
“If there are any other organizations in the community that need help, let us know,” Glasscock said.
Glasscock also hope that other restaurants will follow suit.
“If other restaurants start helping, we can make a difference,” he said. “Like I tell everybody, every little bit we do helps.”
God’s Pit Crew has responded to five natural disasters this year and distributed more than $3 million in products to area organizations.
