Danville police look for man in Saturday assault

Police are looking for a man wanted for a Saturday rape, according to a news release from the Danville Police Department.

Officers arrived at the 1400 block of North Main Street at about 3:10 a.m. They found a 49-year-old Danville woman who said she had been raped. She was taken to Danville Regional Medical Center.

Police are looking for a black, dark-skinned man in his 20s. He is about 6 feet tall with a black afro, according to the news release.

That description certainly narrows the search on North Main Street!!!  I wonder if the Danville Police and Danville Sheriff’s office obtain DNA from convicted or suspected felons within their jurisdiction…  In his 20’s would probably not be a first-time offender…  I wish the victim all the best and I am sorry for her demise re this violent crime…  I hope she comes forward with more (and the police officials) information…
