Reidsville takes over maintenance for two Reidsville streets
The Reidsville City Council met Monday morning and passed resolutions asking the N.C. Department of Transportation to transfer maintenance responsibilities for Vance Street and Equity Drive to the city of Reidsville. The city will take over the maintenance of the two streets effective July 1.

The Martinsville Police Department responded to a call about a fight in progress at 935 Blankenship Road shortly after noon on Friday.
As gas prices rise, schools struggle to keep buses on road
Since the price of diesel fuel has gone up $1.30 a gallon since the beginning of the 2007-08 school year, Danville Public Schools is exploring how to save on fuel costs and get more miles per gallon for buses.
