LOS ANGELES (AP) — Will Kanye West get his Hugh Grant moment on Jay Leno’s new show?
There was no plan for West to chat with the host after performing with Rihanna and Jay-Z on the debut of “The Jay Leno Show,“ NBC said Monday, a few hours before the program was scheduled to tape. It airs at 10 p.m. EDT Monday (0200 GMT Tuesday).
But the situation is fluid and could change, the network said.
Sitting down with Leno would give West the chance to apologize again for ruining Taylor Swift’s moment at the MTV Video Music Awards — just as Grant got to make amends in a 1995 visit to Leno’s “Tonight Show” after the actor was arrested with a prostitute.
West, who interrupted Swift’s acceptance speech to argue that Beyonce deserved her award, has apologized on his blog.

Kayne’s appearance on Leno did little to redeem himself, in my opinion. It is too little too late. I was shocked by his behavior at the VMA’s. He is obnoxious, a poor sport, and a little cry-baby. Furthermore, he ruined what was supposed to be a happy moment for 19 year old Taylor Swift and he can never take that back. That poor girl was mortified, as was I. Somebody needs to teach this A-hole some manners and that the world does not revolve around him!
He is a nothing that never should be anything. He needs to be banned from every speaking or awards ceremony for a full year. I would have loved to see him get run off the set, escorted out of the building. To He!! with all of these people who are so stuck on theirselves, who disrespect others to such terrible degrees. Goodbye, don’t come back. Taylors moment was ruined forever. She will get exposure, even a run in record sales. She will benefit from this. But that is not her intention. She only wanted her moment in time, and she should have been able to have it. Such disrespect, like Serena threatening the judges. She was given the maximum penalty, but it was only 3% of her awards. She also should be banned for a year, at least. These people get away with everything. They are so lucky , but it is time for a reality check to each of them. Wake up.
