Eden man turns himself into police, charged with assault

An Eden man has turned himself in to police following a Wednesday shooting.
Paul Anthony Hairston, 33, of 522 Glovenia St., turned himself in to Eden police at 4:17 p.m. Friday. He has been charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury with Intent to Kill.
Officers responded to a call at the corner of Price Street and Center Church Road on Wednesday and found Carlos Lamont Lester, 34, also of Eden, with a gunshot wound to the chest. Lester is at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in critical but stable condition.
Police are continuing the investigation. Anyone with information related to the shooting is asked to contact Lt. M.T. Frazier or Detective Paul Moore at 623-9755or 623-9240.
