Three passengers were taken to Danville Regional Medical Center after a two-car head-on collision on the corner of North Main Street and Clement Avenue on Tuesday evening. Danville police officers and firefighters responded to the accident at about 7 p.m.
Two passengers in a Mazda were both wearing seat belts, and the airbag for the driver did not deploy, authorities said. The driver of the car was a woman who appeared to be suffering from chest pain, and her passenger was a younger woman who was secured with a neck brace until she was transported onto a stretcher.
The older woman had a blanket put on her and was receiving oxygen from a mask before being put in an ambulance.
The condition of the other driver is unknown, but all passengers were safely removed from the vehicles and transported to the hospital. Authorities believe the injuries to be non-life-threatening at this time.

Thank goodness we have a hospital. The good people of Danville should appreciate the care they receive. I have lived in a community that had to deal with the closure of their only hospital.
