Danville Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce to honor local legislators

The Danville Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce will hold a reception to honor South-side legislators April 27.

Sen. Robert Hurt, R-Pittsylvania County, and Dels. Danny Marshall, R-Danville; Don Merricks, R-Pittsylvania County; and Charles Poindexter, R-Franklin County, will address guests at the reception about the 2009 session of the Virginia General Assembly.

“The legislative reception provides our membership an opportunity to express their gratitude to our state legislators while hearing remarks about the recent legislative session,” Laurie Moran, president of the chamber, said in a news release.

Reservations for the reception are required and can be made by calling the Chamber office at (434) 836-6990 by April 22.

Tickets are $25 for chamber members and $35 for non-members.

The reception will be held at the Mount Hermon Courtyard Conference Center, 2725 Franklin Turnpike, from 5 to 7 p.m.
