Danville home destroyed by fire

A Lexington Avenue home was destroyed when fire broke out shortly after midnight Saturday.

Three engines and 18 firefighters battled the blaze at 230 Lexington Ave., and remained at the scene for more than two hours making sure hot spots did not reignite. They also began an investigation into the cause of the fire.

The investigation is ongoing, according to a news release from acting Assistant Chief B.K. Shields. No one was reported injured.
